When babies are born, they don’t have the skills (in their physiology) to bring their heart rate down – to soothe themselves. As adults, parents, caregivers etc., we have to teach them how via something called, Co-Regulation. There are a few movements out there that suggest sleep training babies and allowing them to CIO (cry it out). I explain in this video why this is not recommend if we want to build a healthy human being.
